Amara Ebony. Ebony is known for its black rockhard wood. These tropical trees usually grow between 15-18 meters tall. From time immemorial, it has been used for ornamental work and parts of musical instruments. The combination “Ebony & Ivory” was also created. Fortunately, Ivory is now protected and forbidden and Ebony trees are also handled more carefully.

Arariba is a red orange wood with a beautiful natural glint (the mirror). Arariba is also called Canarywood. The wood comes from South America. Latin name: Robinia pseudoacacia L.

Ash wood, used in Europe, comes mainly from Europe and North America. Its botanical name is Fraxinus excelsior L. European ash is found in Europe and western Asia, while white ash (Fraxinus americana) is native to eastern and central North America. The wood has a fine grain with a distinctive marbled pattern. Strength: Very strong and tough, yet relatively easy to work with.

“Birds eye wood” refers to a wood pattern found in various types of wood, particularly in hard maple. This pattern resembles small, round bird's eyes and is formed by a specific growth factor of the tree. Also known as the pride of Canada. Yet there are many more different types of Maple in the family. You have a Japanese and Norwegian Maple. A sugar Maple, that's where the syrup comes from. However, actually all Maples are light in color.

Wood comes in different (natural) colors, shapes and sizes. The coloring on this wood is not naturel. Birds Eye refers to the pattern of the wood. We use this among other things for our Red-White-Blue rings.

Bubinga. Also called African Rosewood. The wood is pink, to pink red/brown with beautifully visible veins. This is also what makes the wood so beautiful and desirable.

The wood has a light color with beautiful reddish-brown flame markings. This wood itself smells like cherry! Unfortunately, you no longer smell it in the ring because of the resin finish. Nevertheless, it remains a beautiful type of wood. Cherry is also a more expensive type of wood. Therefore, cherry veneer is widely used to decorate MDF furniture. Soon we will experiment with fresh wood from a cherry tree from the Achterhoek.

This tree is from southeast Asia. From the genus Shorea of the family Dipterocarpacees. Can you pronounce it? There are at least 5 different main groups of meranti that express themselves in different colors. You may see very small pinholes in the veneer. These pinholes are made by “wetwood drillers”.
